I want to start off the week by speaking to business owners, recently I was chatting with a top talent of a major multinational and she said “I am just here coasting, as soon as a new opportunity comes along, I’m out”

It bothers me when key talents say this.

  1. What is your Employee Value Proposition (EVP): Your EVP is the benefits your talents receive in return for the skills, experience and value they bring. This is what makes you an Employer of Choice.
  2. Micromanagement: Nothing frustrates a high performer than not being given the full authority of his/her office. Dear CEO, your talents are not stupid and should not be micromanaged, you paid so much money to buy these talents however you are preventing them from utilizing their core expertise to bring about organizational change and achieve company goals.

3.Create a Conducive Environment: The culture of your organization is critical to your talent retention as it is the key to a happy workforce and this must be driven by you as the business owner. Discourage toxic behavior at all cost.
